Project Goal

To create a complete visual identity and promotional campaign for a fictional matcha brand, “Ochaya Matcha.” The project included branding development, product packaging, advertising design, and a mock social media presence—all aimed at showcasing strong visual storytelling and cohesive design application.

Phase 1: Branding & Ideation

We kicked off the project by grounding the brand in a clear identity and visual direction.

  • Built a mind-map and moodboard to define brand personality

  • Selected the name Ochaya Matcha, inspired by traditional Japanese tea houses

  • Sketched logo concepts and refined them into a clean wordmark

  • Finalized a cohesive color palette centered around organic greens and warm pinks to balance vibrancy with calm

Phase 2: Packaging Design

With the visual identity locked in, I moved into product packaging:

  • Designed labels for food-seal bags, metal tins, and proposed café cups

  • Incorporated illustrations and brand motifs into the packaging to reflect quality and modern tradition

  • Ensured designs were functional, scalable, and aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and target market

Phase 3: Advertisement Development

To build awareness for the brand, I created an advertisement mock-up suitable for bus stop posters or outdoor signage:

  • Sketched early layouts for print composition

  • Designed the final ad using Adobe tools, focusing on bold typography, strong hierarchy, and product feature callouts

  • Incorporated packaging into the ad to reinforce visual consistency across channels

Phase 4: Social Media Presence

To complete the campaign, I crafted a digital brand experience on Instagram:

  • Created a fake Instagram feed in Figma that highlighted products in lifestyle settings

  • Designed realistic mock posts and stories to showcase how Ochaya Matcha might build community online

  • Focused on tone, typography, and brand colors to maintain consistency across digital formats

Outcome

This project gave me the opportunity to combine brand strategy, packaging design, and digital marketing into one cohesive experience. It was a great creative challenge and a piece I’m really proud of. From typography to layout to storytelling, I pushed myself to think like a full-scope designer—and seeing the brand come together across formats was incredibly rewarding.
